A legacy isn’t simply measured in years. It’s measured by what you build, who you help along the way, and the impact that remains because you chose to invest in a community.

Since 1999, Leo and Lillie Millan and the team at Millan Enterprises have done exactly that in Clarksville.

What began as a family-owned real estate company has grown into an organization whose impact reaches far beyond residential and commercial properties. For more than 25 years, Millan Enterprises has continued to invest in Clarksville through development, redevelopment, local business, nonprofit partnerships and philanthropy.

Their commitment to Downtown Clarksville is especially visible. From transforming existing properties and creating new opportunities for businesses to helping bring new life and activity into the heart of downtown, the Millan team has been part of Clarksville’s continued growth and revitalization.

But buildings only tell part of their story.

Over the years, Leo, Lillie and their team have supported organizations serving some of the most vulnerable members of our community, including local families, veterans, children, animals and individuals experiencing homelessness. That spirit of giving eventually grew into the Millan Foundation, furthering their commitment to connecting people, resources and organizations in ways that create meaningful and lasting change.

That is why the word legacy is so fitting.

It can be seen in the properties they have transformed.

It can be seen in the businesses they have helped create space for.

It can be seen in the organizations they have supported.

And most importantly, it can be seen in the people and community they continue to invest in.

Although Leo was unable to attend the Gala due to prior commitments out of the country, Millan Enterprises was proudly represented by a loyal member of his team, who accepted the award on his behalf.

And perhaps that, too, says something about legacy—building a team of people who believe in what you have created and are proud to stand in your place when you cannot be there yourself.
